About This Position

This role is built for two specific types of attorneys:

The Seasoned Professional: You’ve put in the years. Maybe you’re tired of the commute, the politics, or the burnout. You want a position where your experience is valued, the work is steady and rewarding, and you can genuinely turn the clock off at the end of the day. This role lets you focus on high-volume traffic defense using virtual-first technology—delivering meaningful client outcomes at a sustainable pace.

The Entry-Level Litigator: You’re hungry to get into the courtroom. You want massive reps, structured mentorship, and a clear path to becoming a skilled advocate—not a sink-or-swim environment where you’re left to figure it out alone. You’ll start by building a strong foundation in traffic ticket defense, then progressively take on straightforward misdemeanor cases as your skills develop—with the goal of eventually handling a more complex caseload.

The Garguile Advantage

  • Virtual-First Lifestyle: Work from your home office for the vast majority of your week. Approximately 90% of our traffic tickets are handled via Zoom, so you can maintain a high-volume practice without the “road warrior” grind.
  • Structured Mentorship (Entry-Level): No guesswork. You’ll have weekly one-on-one access to our Managing Attorney—a veteran litigator with over 100 jury trials—for case strategy, motion review, and professional development.
  • A Real Career Path (If You Want It): For entry-level attorneys, this is a true development role—you’ll start with traffic ticket defense to build your courtroom confidence and client skills, then progressively take on misdemeanors as your abilities grow. The goal is to build you into a well-rounded criminal defense attorney on a timeline that sets you up to succeed. For seasoned attorneys, if traffic defense is exactly the pace you’re looking for, that’s great—this role is built for that. But if down the road you want to take on more complex work, that door is always open. We grow with our people.
  • Autonomy & Trust: We hire self-motivators who get results without being micromanaged. We provide the technology and the systems; you provide the discipline and the client care.
  • Spanish Language Bonus: Spanish proficiency is a significant asset for our growing client base. Not required—but if you’re bilingual, you’ll be even more valuable to our team and the communities we serve.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in contested traffic ticket hearings, primarily via Zoom.
  • Handle DOL (Department of Licensing) hearings regarding license suspensions.
  • Take on misdemeanor cases as your caseload develops (entry-level attorneys will be ramped in progressively with mentorship support).
  • Perform legal research and prepare motions, memos, and other filings as needed.
  • Collaborate remotely via Zoom and in person with other firm attorneys and staff.
  • Maintain exceptional client communication and follow-through on every case.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Washington State (or awaiting bar results for recent graduates).
  • Must be in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association.
  • No specific experience required – we’re willing to train the right person with the right mindset.
  • Former or current prosecutors and public defenders are encouraged to apply. Strict confidentiality will be maintained.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000–$100,000, based on experience.
  • Health: Comprehensive Premera Gold Plan.
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company matching after one year.
  • Full mileage reimbursement for in-person court appearances.
  • Paid time off.
  • Work from home unless required to be in court.
  • Manageable, structured caseloads.
